PANEL BEATER/ SPRAY PAINTER – Eastern Hutt Panel and Paint Limited

JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy and growing company with a great team. We are looking for an experienced panel beater and spray painter with the ability of completing your work to the highest standards and meeting deadlines.

The main tasks of a panel beater include:

Carrying out inspections on bodywork and frames of vehicles to assess extent of damage
Disassembling damaged vehicle parts
Repairing scratches, dents and other damage to bodywork and replacing any parts that cannot be repaired
Straightening and aligning car frames and uni-bodies
Reassembling vehicle body parts and accessories
Replacing or repairing windows, car interiors and exterior trim
Filling and sanding bodywork
Performing final finishing and polishing
In addition to repair work, panel beater may also be required to greet and welcome customers, record incoming vehicle details, provide cost estimates and liaise with insurance companies in relation to accident-damaged vehicles.
The main tasks of a Spray Painter

Responsible for preparing and painting
Mix paint and other materials according to specification or formula
Ensure facility and spray-painting equipment are in good working condition
Utilize spray gun and apply paint in conformance with all specifications
Monitor machine gauges and equipment operation to discover defects/deviations from standards, and make necessary adjustments
Utilize solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning sprayers and power equipment
Follow company requirements to select paint, and match colors of paint following specified colour charts
Responsible for material and minor maintenance.

Minimum skills, experience and qualifications requirements for the role:

• Capable of general Panel-beating/ painting duties on small to medium sized repairs
• Trade certificate would be an advantage but no necessary
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Panel Beater/ Spray Painter
• Full Drivers license

The successful candidate will be based at 144 Eastern Hutt Road, Taita, Lower Hutt.

You will be working minimum of 40 hours a week – Monday to Friday (8.00am to 4.30pm).
