HEAD CHEF –

DESCRIPTION 
Nasama Resort is looking for a talented and experienced Head Chef who will work between our two restaurants, Café Vila and Three Pigs. Both our restaurants are in the top 10 in Vanuatu and are well known for our delicious meals, relaxing ambience and friendly staff.

JOB BRIEF

We need someone who is comfortable working on the grill during busy service and plating
fine dining dishes. Dessert knowledge is a bonus.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities.
-Be involved in the ordering a purchasing including driving to suppliers to pick up produce.
– Be able to control portioning to keep food costs and wastage low
-Quality control of meals
-Initiate procedures and systems to eliminate pilferage.
-Recruit, train and manage kitchen staff; set clear and consistent expectations; improve employee
attendance and productivity; ensure company policy is followed.
-Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
-Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
-Handle problems or complaints from customers.
-Maintain a positive and professional approach with staff and customers.

REQUIREMENTS
-Proven working experience as a Head Chef in a Resort or restaurant.
-Excellent record of kitchen management.
– Able to work on a busy line in the kitchen cooking and plating
– Driver’s License
– Have excellent communication and leadership skills.
-Keep up with cooking trends and best practices.
-Have working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant
management software, POS).
-BS degree in Culinary science or related certificates a plus
