ISLAND ENGINEER – Royal Davui

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Engineer to join our team at Royal Davui Island Resort. As the Island Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our resort’s critical infrastructure, including diesel generators, drinking water systems, and wastewater management facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring that these systems operate efficiently, reliably, and in an environmentally sustainable manner. Reporting to the General Manager and Chief Engineer, the role offers room for growth and career development as you take on increasing responsibilities and contribute to the success of our resort.

Key Responsibilities:

Diesel Generator Management:

Oversee the operation and maintenance of diesel generators to provide reliable electrical power to the resort.
Implement preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshoot any generator-related issues.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices in fuel efficiency.
Drinking Water Management:

Manage the resort’s drinking water systems, including sourcing, treatment, and distribution.
Monitor water quality and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Identify and implement improvements to optimize water usage and quality.

Waste Water Management:

Maintain and enhance the wastewater treatment facilities to meet environmental standards.
Implement effective waste management practices, including recycling and disposal.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local regulations.
Maintenance and Repairs:

Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all engineering systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity of equipment and facilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly to minimize guest disruptions.
Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor a team of skilled technicians and engineers to achieve high performance and productivity.
Foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement within the engineering department.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in a similar role, with a background in managing diesel generators, and resort facilities.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
Leadership and team management skills.
Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a remote island resort environment.
