COMPANY FINANCIAL CONTROLLER/INTERNAL ACCOUNTANT – Goundar Shipping Limited

DESCRIPTION

Goundar Shipping Limited is an established yet growing Company providing inter-island shipping services. The Company is seeking a dynamic, highly competent and experienced person for the position of Financial Controller.

Duties
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for:
• Managing day to day accounting and administrative functions including leading the finance and administration team;
• Preparation of financial reports and working closely with the external accountant;
• Preparation of monthly management reports, cash flow management, costing, budgets, and reconciliation;
• Overseeing regulatory compliance, filing of statutory returns and attending to regulatory matters;
• Monitoring and verification of daily sales of the Office, ships, and all agents throughout Fiji;
• Formulation and continuous development of internal control measures and procedures;
• Processing of payroll;
• Management of accounts receivable and accounts payables;
• Management of petty cash;
• General administration of all office matters; and any other special assignments as directed.

Qualification & Experience

The applicant should have:
• Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Must be of positive attitude, a team player, and able to exercise sound professional judgement; and
• Ability to work under pressure with high standard, time management skills and multi-tasking skills.
