JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The appointee will play a key role in implementing the coastal fisheries management component of the USP PEUMP Project. He/she will report to the Coastal Fisheries Lecturer and be supervised by the Coastal Fisheries Research Fellow. Duties will include but are not restricted to: assisting the Coastal Fisheries Research Fellow with research work on fisheries commodities for the USP PEUMP project and co-authoring written research reports and articles for the project. The Research Assistant will be a key player in liaising with and coordinating coastal fisheries management activities, including pilot trials and rollout, with relevant stakeholders and communities; support the Coastal Fisheries Lecturer and Coastal Fisheries Research Fellow in design and delivery of coastal fisheries management activities from planning, coordination, monitoring, delivery and facilitation.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
A degree with two years subsequent relevant experience; or
a Diploma with four (4) years of relevant experience in technical or administrative fields may be considered; or
An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Work experience in PACPs; previous experience/familiarity with international and/or regional organizations and relevant research experience are desirable

Salary Range
FJ $33,549.35 to FJ $39,679.55 per annum
