Film Fiji is a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport. The commission is tasked with promoting and developing the Audio-Visual sector in the country. Film Fiji also provides advice on production processes and logistics while in Fiji. As a government statutory body, Film Fiji has a large network of local stakeholders who are directly involved in the film industry, ensuring that production companies have a pleasant experience while shooting in our country.

We are looking for a dynamic person who has the passion for film and multimedia industry, ability to drive strategic objectives and has the determination to strategically grow the Film industry. This role reports to the Film Fiji Board and will be responsible for delivering the following critical outcomes:
• A strategically focused Film Fiji
o Lead the development of FF’s long and short-term strategies
■ Position and promotion of Fiji Film strategically as the preferred “Island Destination” for Film
o Operations focused on the core business – development and growth of the AV industry.
• Grow Fiji’s national Film Industry.
o Develop and initiate programs to grow the national film Industry
o Strategically implement projects with emphasis on community development
o Promote and operationalize local talent initiatives
o Create partnerships to grow local market and talent
• Audio Visual Advocacy
o Promote the economic and associated benefits of Fiji to Film Producers/Potential Producers
o Advisory services to Government on audio visual facilitation and promotion
• Effective stakeholder engagement
o Market the AV Industry as a growing sector for Fiji
o Foster effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Local & International AV Stakeholders
• Industry, Development and community partners
• Government and statutory agencies
• Ensure operational and statutory compliance.
o Local and Global/international compliance – laws, conventions etc.
• Film Fiji leadership
The person we seek will have at least 10 years professional experience in leadership similar role(s), with a Masters in Mass Communications or equivalent from a recognised institution. The applicant must possess the following work knowledge and experience:
• Have marketing networking capacity and calibre to build FF’s current portfolio to new heights locally and Internationally
• Ability to promote country potential and opportunities – “sell Fiji to film producers”
• An advocate for Fiji and able to promote the opportunities that are mutually beneficial
• A strong leader with experience in organisational and strategic management
• Experience in driving Strategic Planning
• Experience in Policy formulation in government economic/financial management – reporting and analysis
• Experience in Film is desirable but not essential
• Experience in public relations principles, techniques and presentations is advantageous.
