•Electrical Technician (Specialized in televisions, speakers, amplifiers, mobile, phones (predominantly Samsung and Apple), Tablets, printers, and other electronic equipment) (Cook Islands)

Job Title: Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within a facility or organization. They work closely with the Electrical Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical components.

Key Responsibilities:

– Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including generators, transformers, motors, and control panels
– Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, and implement appropriate corrective actions
– Install, modify, and upgrade electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment according to blueprints and electrical codes
– Maintain detailed records of all electrical work, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory
– Collaborate with the Electrical Engineer to develop and implement electrical safety protocols and procedures
– Assist in the design and planning of new electrical systems and infrastructure
– Operate and maintain specialized electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
– Coordinate with other trades (e.g., plumbers, HVAC technicians) to ensure integrated system functionality
– Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards
– Provide training and guidance to apprentice or junior electrical technicians
– Respond to emergency electrical issues and service calls as needed
– Perform other duties as assigned by the Electrical Engineer or management

Required Skills and Qualifications:

– Completion of a technical or vocational program in Electrical Engineering or a related field
– Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician or Electrician
– Comprehensive knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and equipment
– Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
– Skilled in the use of multimeters, circuit testers, and other electrical testing equipment
– Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical problems
– Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
– Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety
– Effective communication and teamwork skills
– Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and best practices
– Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-call or during off-hours as needed
