The Ministry invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced and eligible candidates for the Manager – Project Management Unit (PMU); the Manger will be based at the Department of Energy (DOE) and is expected to work closely with Director of Energy and DOE staff members assigned to PMU and manage all the tasks and outputs of two Fiji Rural Electrification Support Project.

FIJI RURAL ELECTRFICAT1ON SUPPORT PROJECT

The Fiji Rural Electrification Support Project, approved and committed in 2023, is funded by the Government of Japan under the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific (JFPR). In addition, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will collaborate with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (J1CA) in executing joint capacity development programs in renewable energy technologies (such as solar PVs, BESS, and smart grid) to enhance the impact of the O&M capacity development program for the Government of Fiji and the communities concerned supported by the project.

The projects include the expansion and upgrade of a mini-hydropower facility and installation of a solar photovoltaic (PV)-based mini-grid together with battery energy storage system (BESS) in remote locations.
