We are seeking to hire a highly motivated individual in the role of IP Engineer join our Technical Team based at the Khalsa office, reporting to the Head of Technical.

As an IP Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical system operations support and maintenance of Digicel IP infrastructure in the Fiji market.

Core Responsibilities:

Designing and implementing global network environments and associated network-based applications for multinational companies.
Designs tactical plans in accordance with customer specifications.
Architecture and design of IP networks
Developing training and operational documentation to support new and existing network-based applications/equipment.
Monitoring all communication lines, hardware, including problem isolation, determination, resolution, assisting, coordinating, and dispatching resources and equipment as required.
Provide technical leadership and support to sales and technical teams with regards to IP infrastructure.
Testing and evaluating emerging equipment to support the delivery requirements of the network prior to handover.
Conducting quality checks to ensure top quality products and services are delivered to all customers.
Proactively perform corrective maintenance for IP network as per the set schedule.
Develop automation and other internal systems and tools to assist in the care and feeding of the IP network and integration activities
Responsible for network planning, configuration and implementation for Smart Grid utility clients
Collating network capacity analysis as required.
Preparing detailed network documentation, technical papers and reports as required.
Identifying, defining and measuring the quality of support and service provided to customers and striving for continuous improvement.

Academic qualifications, Experience & Skill a required for this role:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking or a related field.
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in IP & Data technology.
Knowledge of network performance, hardware and software management.
Advanced knowledge of security issues and implications to network solutions
Sound knowledge of network dynamic routing protocols BGP, OSPF.
Hands-on knowledge of network layer-2 connectivity and spanning tree protocol. Must have experience in configuring large, complex switched networks.
Advanced knowledge of network WAN technologies MPLS, VPLS, IP SLA. Must have experience in installing and troubleshooting carrier WAN circuits.
Understanding of Cisco/Huawei Systems Products (routers and switches), Checkpoint Firewalls and open source.
Experience configuring DHCP and DNS records.
In-depth knowledge of advanced IP switching and routing
Possesses knowledge and experience in analyzing packet traces of TCP/IP traffic
Ability to manage complex network trouble shooting and understanding different technologies.
Specific experience must also include a broad spectrum of technologies, including VoIP, LAN switches, WAN routers, Enterprise Firewalls, VPN remote access (IPsec and SSL), wireless, DNS appliances, IP-based video, MPLS.
