Join NowThe Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and financial support to the accounting department. This role involves performing a variety of tasks related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and other financial record-keeping duties. The Accounts Assistant works closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
– Process and record accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, including invoices, payments, and credit memos.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions in the general ledger.
– Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
– Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
– Coordinate with customers and vendors to resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
– Ensure timely payment of invoices and follow up on past-due accounts.
– Assist in the preparation of documents for tax and audit purposes.
– Provide administrative support to the accounting team, including filing, data entry, and responding to inquiries.
– Collaborate with other departments to gather and share financial information as needed.
– Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant accounting policies and procedures.
– Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance financial and administrative skills.
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
– 1-3 years of experience in an accounts assistant or similar financial support role.
– Strong proficiency in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial management tools.
– Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
– Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
– Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
– Proficient in basic accounting principles, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger management.
– Familiarity with standard financial reports and their interpretation.
– Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and procedures.
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.
– Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
– Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is preferred.
