Carpenters Motors, a division of Carpenters Fiji Pte Limited and a recognized leader in the Motoring Industry in Fiji, is seeking applications from interested candidates for the role of Yard Mechanic to be based at Carpenters Motors – Used Cars in Walubay, Suva.  If you believe that you are ready to join our dynamic team we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform team leader if vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessary   
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by customer
• Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty of if requested by customer
• Notify service consultants immediately if additional work is  needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
• Road test vehicles to check work performed
• Ensure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
• Adheres to company policies, procedures and safety standards
• Follow company safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and harsh chemicals.      

Requirements:

• Form 6 educated or Trade Certificate in Automotive Mechanical. 
• At least 2-3 year of experience is required in the similar field.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information 
• Time management skills are essential. 
• Customer service skills. 
• Valid Group 2 Driving License.
