Finance Officer Suva, Fiji
General Pacific Pte Ltd, a market leader in Pest Control and Fumigation Industry, is part of a wider group of companies owned by Neptune Pacific Direct Line, a sister Company to FIJI Water.
We currently have a great opportunity for the position of Finance Officer based at our Waliekutu Depot. The key function and purpose of this role is to manage debtors accounts of the organization when services have been rendered. You will be tasked with monitoring outstanding balances, ensuring timely payments are received, and accounts are operating as per agreed credit terms. Your role plays a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of the company by minimizing credit risk and maximizing cash flow.
Here’s what you’ll do:
· Monitor and manage the company’s accounts receivable portfolio.
· Maintain debtors accounts – disbursements, limits, holds, payments, reconciliation.
· In discussion with the GM, implement credit control procedures to ensure timely payment collection.
· Monitor changes to credit terms.
· Follow up with customers to resolve overdue payments and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
· Initiate collection actions for delinquent accounts in accordance with company policies.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate smooth credit transactions.
· Address customer inquiries and concerns related to credit terms, invoices, and payments.
· Collaborate with sales, operations, and admin team to resolve disputes and expedite payment processes.
· Work closely with clients and all inter – departments.
· Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable aging and collections performance.
· Analyze credit data and trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
· Provide recommendations to management for optimizing credit collections and customer ratings.
· Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, as well as external regulatory requirements.
· Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to credit management.
· Any other tasks requested by immediate supervisor.
· Other duties as required
Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:
· Bachelor’s Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
· Relevant experience in a similar role
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial data and make sound credit decisions.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.
· Knowledge of credit risk management principles and practices.
· Attention to detail and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
· Proficiency in using accounting software – Sage Accounting and Microsoft Office applications (preferred).
