LOCATION: PORT MORESBY, PAPUA NEW GUINEA

A leading retail and distribution group from Fiji – known for its excellence in consumer and home improvement products is expanding into Papua New Guinea. The business is backed by a strong regional presence and with a reputation for quality, value, and trusted customer service across the Pacific.

 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

 


We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager to lead and grow our distribution operations in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales performance, building customer relationships, managing store teams, and developing strategies to establish the brand as a market leader in the PNG retail space.

 

 

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets across product categories.

  • Manage daily operations, Customer merchandising, and brand experience standards.

  • Lead, train, and motivate a local sales team to deliver outstanding customer service and sales performance.

  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.

  • Liaise with distributors, and logistics teams to ensure smooth product availability and promotions.

  • Work closely with management to plan and execute marketing and promotional campaigns.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, and reporting requirements.

  • Monitor key sales KPIs and prepare performance reports for senior management.

 

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

 

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum five (5) years of sales and retail management experience in consumer and home improvement products.

  • Proven experience in managing Corporate and Trade Customers.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and mentor high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.

  • Commercially astute with experience in budgeting, pricing, and inventory control.

  • Prior experience in Pacific Island markets or emerging markets will be an advantage.
