SECURITY & SAFETY MANAGER
Kokomo Private Island Fiji is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security & Safety Manager to join our prestigious 6-star resort located on a beautiful island.
The Security & Safety Manager is responsible for the overall management of resort security, workplace health and safety compliance, and emergency preparedness for Kokomo Private Island Fiji. This includes leading all security operations across the island, managing the resort’s contracted security provider, developing and implementing security and safety protocols, and ensuring all departments maintain compliance with local legislation, company policies, and best practice safety standards. The role also oversees the resort’s emergency management and response framework – including fire safety, cyclone readiness, and all related staff training, documentation, and drills – to ensure Kokomo maintains a safe, compliant, and resilient operating environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Security Management: Oversee and coordinate all security operations for Kokomo Private Island, ensuring 24-hour coverage and effective incident response.

Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver safety and emergency training sessions for staff, including induction programs, fire awareness, first aid, and evacuation procedures.

Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all documentation related to security, safety, and emergency management is current and easily accessible for audit or review.

Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with the Back of House Manager and department heads to ensure a coordinated approach to resort safety and security.

Authorities: The position has full authority to manage security, safety, and emergency operations.

Workplace Health & Safety (WHS): Lead the resort’s workplace health and safety program, ensuring compliance with Fijian legislation and company policies.

Emergency Management & Preparedness: Oversee the resort’s emergency response planning and ensure readiness for fire, cyclone, medical, and other critical incidents.
Qualifications and Attributes:
Proven experience in security management and compliance, preferably in a luxury resort or hospitality setting.

Minimum secondary and tertiary qualifications in security, health & safety management

Proven leadership and communication skills
-
10 years and above experience

High integrity and trustworthiness
-
Problem solving mindset
-
Experience in drug & alcohol testing / protocols

First Aid/Defib/Fire Training completed

Satisfactory Police Clearance
-
Dedication to the details, from budget management to identifying and correcting risks

Well presented with an excellent attitude is important

Physically fit and an active/effective Team Player
