FINTEL is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant Finance to manage daily financial operations, including cash receipting, journal postings, and financial reporting for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily cash receipting and direct deposit updates for retail and wholesale services.
- Prepare and organise posting of accounting journals in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of company purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock takes, reconciliations and reporting.
- Handle statutory obligations such as FNU levy reconciliation.
- Assist in monthly reporting, including loan and deposit reconciliations.
- Verify and reconciling retail and wholesale receipts.
- Provide financial analysis, interpretation of variances from budget and standards and advise to management
Requirements
- A Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in a dynamic finance team. (Telecommunications sector would be an added advantage).
- Strong initiative, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting practices, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Strong ethics, integrity, and professional conduct.
- Proficient in computer applications, accounting systems, MS Excel and MS Word
