We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Officer & Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. This is a critical role requiring strong expertise in Australian Labour Law, Modern Awards interpretation, and end-to-end payroll processing. Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end weekly & monthly payroll processing
- Interpretation of Australian Labour Law, Fair Work & Modern Awards
- Processing allowances, overtime, penalties, terminations, backpay & pay increases
- Payroll reconciliations, reporting & year-end processing
- Superannuation, payroll tax, BAS, child support & salary sacrificing
- Timesheet validation & compliance checks
- Ensure ongoing compliance with ATO & Fair Work requirements
- Accounts payable & receivable
- Invoicing & debt collection
- Bank reconciliations
- BAS preparation & reporting
- Financial reporting support to CFO
- Payroll system & financial software management (MYOB or similar)
- Record maintenance, compliance documentation & reporting
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Australian Labour Law & Modern Awards
- Proven experience processing Australian payroll
- Excellent understanding of payroll compliance & entitlements
- Payroll systems experience (MYOB highly regarded)
- High attention to detail & time management
- Strong Excel & accounting software skills
- Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Experience in job costing / construction environments
- BAS & payroll tax experience
