FIJI TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION COMMISSION. The Commission’s primary mandate is to promote social cohesion through healing and reconciliation, focusing specifically on the political upheavals in Fiji that have occurred since 1987 (the coup periods).
Key Responsibilities
- Providing safe and enabling spaces for survivors to share their stories and trauma.
- Investigating the root causes and accountability related to human rights violations during the coup periods since 1987.
- Offering trauma support, counseling, and other necessary services to survivors.
- Recommending policy and measures to prevent recurrence of similar conflicts in the future.
Requirements
- Applicants must be Fijian Citizens.
- Under the Age of 60.
- In sound health.
- Must have a clear police record.
- The successful applicant will be required to provide a medical certificate and police clearance as a condition of employment.
- Applicants must address the specific knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities required for the job.
