Vacancy – Sustainable Tourism Officer

The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) invites applications for the position of Sustainable Tourism Officer to join its Secretariat in Suva, Fiji.

Representing 21 member countries, SPTO is mandated with the promotion and development of sustainable tourism in the Pacific region.

This position reports to the Manager of the Division of Sustainable Tourism and will be required to support the planning. implementation and documentation of the Pacific Sustainable Tourism Policy Framework and sustainable tourism strategies/policies and projects to support the work of National Tourism Organisations, SPTO private sector members and partners.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be a team player
Possess strong planning and analytical skills.
Specific tourism experience is not a strict requirement for this role but it would be an added advantage.
Applicants should have a tertiary qualification in either Business Development. Tourism, Economics or Sustainable Development.
A minimum of 3-5 years in sustainable tourism development work is required.
Remuneration will be determined according to the successful candidate’s relevant experience and skills.
