PLANT MECHANIC – Viti Foods Pte Limited

Viti Foods Pte Limited is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies and we specialize in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Plant Mechanic to be based at our office in Laucala Beach Estate, Suva.

Key Responsibilities

This position reports to the Engineering Supervisor and will be involved in a variety of activities including but not limited to:

Ensure planned and unplanned maintenance and repair work completion
Monitor machine operating condition and periodic inspection is ensured for recently maintained equipment
Functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment evaluated.
Critical check-up of machines after maintenance is ensured at all times
Maintenance log sheets are accurate and complete at all times
Line release to the production is timely and minimizes impact to production at all times
Spare part, material and tools inventory regularly checked and inspected and orders placed when needed
Continuous development and refinement of plant and machinery ensured
Compliance with all applicable controls, health and food safety policies and procedures as implemented by the department ensured

Key Requirements

Tertiary qualification in Engineering field with at least 2 years work experience
Knowledge in Preventative maintenance, Health and Safety, People handling, Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety and root cause analysis
Knowledge in developing and maintaining preventative maintenance program
Experience in project management
Strong teamwork, interpersonal and organizational skill
Computer literate with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
