Carpenters Motors, a division of Carpenters Fiji Pte Limited and recognized leader in the motoring industry in Fiji, is seeking applications for interested candidates for the role of Metalock Supervisor to be based Carpenters Motors- Service Workshop in Walubay, Suva. Responsibilities:

Lead, train, and manage a team of Fitter Machinists, assigning tasks, setting goals, and ensuring efficient workflows.
Provide guidance and technical support to team members, assisting with complex repair tasks.
Oversee repair processes to ensure that repairs meet industry standards and specifications.
Implement quality control procedures to minimize defects and rework.
Perform and assist in complex repair tasks, including machining, welding, fitting, and assembly, to maintain or repair equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose machinery problems, suggesting solutions.
Interact with clients to understand their repair needs, provide estimates, and address any concerns.
Ensure client satisfaction by maintaining open communication and delivering high-quality repairs.
Manage the allocation of resources, including materials, parts, tools, and equipment, to complete repair projects efficiently.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels to support the repair process.
Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Conduct safety training and regular safety audits.
Monitor and control repair costs, optimizing processes to minimize expenses while maintaining quality standards.
Ensure adherence to budgets and cost-effectiveness.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of repair projects, including work orders, reports, and documentation.
Prepare and submit reports to management and clients as necessary.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, increase repair efficiency, and reduce downtime.
Implement process changes and train team members accordingly.
Ensure that all repair work complies with industry/ Brand standards, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.
Verify that repairs meet required tolerances and specifications.

Requirements:

Certificate III & IV in Fitting and Machining or Professional Diploma in Business Management.
Over 5 years work experience as a Fitter Machinist with a background in repairing and maintaining machinery with 3 years managerial experience in similar role.
Proficiency in machining, welding, fitting and assembly.
Familiarity with industry standards and specifications.
Must have knowledge on emerging/ advance machinery utilized at a machine shop.
Strong communication and client serving skills.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Good organizing and administrative skills.
High level of analytical and presentation skills.
Willing to display initiative and accept responsibility for decision making.
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Having computer skills (e.g. general MS Office)
Valid Group 2 Driving License
