Viti Foods Pte Limited is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies and we specialize in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Factory Manager to be based in Laucala Beach Estate, Suva.

Job Responsibilities:

The successful incumbent will be accountable for the leadership, management, and control of all activities within the factory in accordance with the strategic direction including managing and leading facility, product quality, people safety and environmental sustainability. This position reports to the General Manager.

Oversee the operations of the factory and responsible for scheduling production, increasing productivity, driving cost efficiency, ensuring quality control and facilitating the overall smooth & seamless operations of the factory.
Manage compliance with health and safety, environment, plant certification (BRC, FDA, EU), SOP’s, good manufacturing practices (GMP), quality standards and other stakeholder requirements.
Workforce management including staff rostering, recruitment support, training and upskilling of staff, workforce costs and ensuring distribution of workload is appropriate.
Develop and implement plans for the production progress, product improvement and general growth in liaison with Senior Management.
Maintain all processing equipment and tools in good order and condition including preventive maintenance.
Support initiatives such as value-added production and new product development

Essential Requirements:

Degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Food or Marine Science from a recognized institution or equivalent with at least 5 years’ experiences in production chain of commercial food manufacturing plant, preferably in tuna/mackerel processing.
Have extensive experience in Manufacturing or Processing management and Food Safety and ability to plan and implement production plans.
Strong business acumen and exceptional leadership skills.
Proven experience managing all aspects of plant operations and manufacturing process, demonstrating a hands-on approach to solving problems, ensuring quality and production goals are met.
Track record of driving a performance and safety culture, by ensuring employees are held accountable to company expectations in all areas consistent with the company’s values.
Ability to work under pressure, showing resilience and the capability to juggle competing priorities, whilst working collaboratively with all stakeholders
