CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Fiji Sports Council, a Statutory Body of the Fiji Government in continuously trying to achieve national objectives for transparency, accountability, and good governance, is inviting applications for the above position. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary and innovative applicant in charge of total management of the Fiji Sports Council.
The role requires someone who has a passion in the area of facility and resource management, has worked in a management position and has proven strategic, financial, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Managing a small yet diverse team, the ability to foster a creative and working environment is core to the role. If successful, you will be joining an enthusiastic team of people who are extremely passionate about their work.

The CEO must have the following core competencies:

• Achieved targets by coaching and developing your team and promoting a culture of innovation and strong corporate performance.
• Strong leadership skills, be proficient in people management.
• Effective management of high-quality service delivery, infrastructure maintenance and development and maintenance of a cohesive culture committed to continual improvement and quality.
• Proven ability in living and achieving goals, be a strong business manager, with an excellent understanding of commercial and financial operations.
• Demonstrated sound strategic thinking and planning to ensure the Organisation remains committed to its Vision.
• Ensure smooth, timely and effective implementation of Board’s directives.
• To oversee implementation of the organisation’s Policies.
• To liaise with Board Council Members on Council business.
• To manage compliance of commercial matters regarding insurance, internal auditing, investigations, fraud, and security.
• Good planning, time management and organising ability, including project management.

 

Minimum qualifications required:

• Tertiary Qualification in Management and Public Administration.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in sports facilities management and administration with corporate background.
• Ability to work constantly changing environment.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must be a team builder.
This is a demanding yet satisfying role and an appropriate salary package will be negotiated accordingly.
