Every plate has the potential to create a memory that lasts a lifetime for our guests. We’re looking for Pastry Commis Chefs with a passion for presentation, dedication to flavour and commitment to setting high standards from workspace to table and beyond. Under the direction of Executive Sous Chef, you are responsible to take care of the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
You will be working in our Pastry Kitchen, preparing delicious desserts for our conferences or all-day dining restaurant.
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
Support Chef de Partie or Demi Chef in the daily operation of the Pastry Section.
Work according to the menu specifications by the Head of Pastry.
Keep the work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules.
Prepare the daily mise-en-place and pastry production.
Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks.
Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage, and cost control.
Prepare and display buffet food items according to the hotel standard.
Perform tasks promptly.
Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross-contamination.
Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues.
What we need from you:
Certificate in Patisserie and/or Baking or Cake Decoration.
Good Communication and writing skills.
The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 23 kg which can also involve bending and kneeling.
A good grasp of reading, writing and basic mathematics.
The flexibility to work night, weekend and holiday shifts.
Compliance with local laws on food handling.
Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.
At least 1 year of experience in a similar role in a world-class brand or similar resort setting.
