FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN – InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa

JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

A fire technician is a professional who inspects and evaluates buildings and areas for fire hazards. They install or implement systems to prevent fire damage, such as fire alarms, suppression systems, and protective materials.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
Monitor and update fire alarm system in our resort building.
Test and repair alarm system.
Performa schedule inspections to ensure alarms are installed and working according to code.
Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting and issues. Following up to make any outstanding issued noted have been resolved.
Work closely with our fire service provider when they are on site testing fire pumps and fire alarm systems.
Respond to emergency service calls.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Being ready to step up and take on extra duties when the team needs you.

What we need from you

A high school diploma or related vocational training
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Experience with firefighting equipment and system.
A reasonable level of fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day and will need to bend and kneel a lot.
Ability to pull, push and lift at least 25kg.
Great communication skills, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.
