ANTI-CORRUPTION AND INTEGRITY CONSULTANT – International Foundation for Electoral System (IFES)

Organizational Description:

The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) is an international, nonprofit organization that supports the building of democratic societies. IFES promotes democratic stability by providing technical assistance and applying field-based research to the electoral cycle in countries around the world to enhance citizen participation and strengthen civil societies, governance, and transparency. Founded in 1987 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, IFES has developed and implemented comprehensive, collaborative democracy solutions in more than 145 countries.

The IFES Fiji and Pacific Islands office, based in Suva, is looking for a consultant with expertise and experience on anti-corruption, public integrity, and/or transparency and accountability, especially in relation to public governance and elections. The consultant may support program initiatives focused on open government and data, campaign finance and abuse of state resources in elections, electoral justice and dispute resolution, legal and regulatory reform, or other similar topics. The consultant may have to work with government officials, political parties, election authorities, civil society organizations, and/or media outlets. The consultant will work on a part-time basis according to program needs and the consultant’s availability over the course of the contract.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a technical advisor for anti-corruption and integrity and provide expertise and strategic guidance aimed at strengthening existing programming, identifying avenues for new initiatives and partnerships, and developing tools and resources.
Provide direct advice and assistance to partners and stakeholders, as directed by Country Director, in areas aligning with program objectives.
Conduct, coordinate, or contribute to research and assessments on anti-corruption and integrity.
Establish, maintain, and develop productive working relationships with partners and stakeholders.
Contribute to program strategies, documents, and materials, such as work plans, curricula, tools and resources, agendas, facilitation notes, and presentations.
Facilitate trainings, workshops, and other special events relevant to areas of expertise.
Monitor and report on anti-corruption and integrity developments in Fiji, including developments related to laws and regulations, civil and criminal cases, institutions, elected officials, policy platforms, and public opinion.
Other similar duties as requested by the Country Director.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Degrees in political science, public policy, law, international development, or a related field required.
At least four years of professional experience working on issues related to anti-corruption, public integrity, and/or transparency and accountability.
Knowledge of relevant international and regional standards required.
Knowledge of democracy, elections, and good governance principles and issues preferred.
Prior experience with project management, training, research, partnerships, and/or stakeholder engagement preferred.
Prior experience with international organizations or relevant national stakeholders preferred.
Fluency in written and spoken English language required.
Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
