Fiji Meat Industry Board is a Statutory Government Institution which operates the Abattoirs in Nakasi and Vuda. FMIB seeks to recruit the following position to be based at their Vuda Abattoir.

Finance & Admin Officer (VAC 03/24)

Responsible for managing financial activities, ensuring com pliance with interna I controls, providingadministrative support and facilitating smooth operations within the abattoir setting.
Minimumqualification required isa Diploma in Accounting with 2 years of experience in a similar role. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proficiency in financial software/tools, communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

The Finance & Administrative Officer is responsible for managing the financial operations, accounting, and administrative tasks of an organization. They ensure the company’s financial records and business operations are maintained accurately and efficiently.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:

– Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
– Process payroll and maintain payroll records
– Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and reports
– Reconcile bank accounts and manage cash flow
– Monitor budgets and provide financial analysis to leadership
– Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and tax requirements
– Assist with the annual audit and financial auditing processes

 

 

Administrative Coordination:

– Oversee general office administration and clerical tasks
– Manage vendor and supplier relationships
– Maintain detailed records and filing systems
– Coordinate facility management, including leases, maintenance, and supplies
– Support human resources functions like benefits administration and onboarding
– Provide administrative support to the executive team as needed
– Implement and optimize internal policies, procedures, and workflows

 

 

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
– 3-5 years of experience in a finance and/or administrative role, preferably in a small to medium-sized organization
– Proficient in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial management tools
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
– Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders
– Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
– Adaptable to changing priorities and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
