Our client, Volunteer Service Abroad – Te Tūao Tāwāhi (VSA) is New Zealand’s largest and most experienced volunteering agency working in international development. VSA is seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Country Programme Coordinator based in Suva, Fiji. The role will be responsible for providing support to the relevant Programme Manager to ensure delivery of a high-quality development programme which meets the needs of the country programme, its partner organisations, and volunteers.

The Country Programme Coordinator role is an opportunity to support locally identified development goals and aspirations and will report to the Programme Manager – Fiji.

 

Summary of Key Accountabilities

Providing coordination, financial and administrative support to the Programme Manager – Fiji
Working with the Programme Manager and VSA’s New Zealand-based staff, to coordinate the in-country operational logistics; including helping to sort visas, travel arrangements and finding suitable accommodation.
Office management and property portfolio requirements, ensuring office records and finances are well maintained, and leases and utility agreements are paid and up to date.
Interact with VSA’s wonderful New Zealand Volunteers, briefing them on arrival with your local knowledge and providing them with language and cultural training.
Ensure where relevant the effective and efficient support for volunteers and the programme.

Qualifications and Experience

VSA is looking for someone who is trustworthy, resilient, able to multi-task and an adaptable self-starter. A highly organised and detail-oriented individual; capable of working both collaboratively and independently.

The suitable candidate will also have the following skills and experience:

Relevant tertiary qualification in Management, Accounting or Business Administration
Experience in administration, property, office and/or operational management.
Successful experience in developing office systems and maintaining office records.
Training or qualification in banking and accounting management, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained. Comfortable also with the handling of cash.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email applications is required.
A passion and commitment to international development and eager to make a positive impact across diverse communities.

 

You must also be:

Eligible to live and work in Fiji.
Able to provide police clearance.
Willing to work as an independent contractor.
Able to start as soon as possible.
Willing to work as part of a small and diverse team.
Possess a valid, clean driving license.
Excellent computer skills.

Remuneration

An attractive contract package will be negotiated with the successful candidate commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract fee for this role will be between $33,558 – $39,480 FJD per annum.
