Job Description
Industrial and Marine Engineering Pte Limited (IMEL), a division of Carpenters Group of Companies, has an exciting opening for dynamic individuals to join IMEL for the Fitter/Machinist role based in Walu Bay, Suva.

Responsibilities:

Machine parts to specifications using machines and tools such as lathes, vertical borers, milling machines or grinders.
Select, set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine, tools and many specialized tools.
Position and fasten work pieces in to the machine.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments and repairs.
Suggest and carry out improvements on job and work practices.

Requirements:

Trade Certificate in Fitting & Machining.
Ability to read technical drawings.
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Willingness to work varied shifts, including night shift where necessary.
Forklift Driver’s License would be advantageous.
