Job Purpose
As Trustee, you will guide and support Oxfam Pacific as an impactful, relevant and self-determined regional organisation.
The OiP Trustee will be responsible for all:
- Inclusive and accountable governance for a 1.5 °C world
- Climate Justice. Gender and Citizen Justice. Humanitarian Action.
- Live our Pacific values – solidarity, self-determination, stewardship, self-reflection, feminist leadership (see below)
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- The Trust Board is seeking skills and experience from across the Pacific region in the areas of strategy, legal, technology, finance, people and culture (including health and safety), public policy, Pacific regionalism, international development, and fundraising. That said, we are open- minded about other backgrounds and skills that could add value to the organisation.
- Prior governance training and experience is highly regarded but we are also supportive of developing new Trustees. Our most important requirement is a commitment to Oxfam’s values, including feminist leadership principles.
- The board encourages applications from women, disabled persons/access citizens and the LGBTQ community across the wider Pacific region.
Term
Appointments are for three-year terms, which are renewable twice to a maximum of nine years. Leaves of absence are permitted with the agreement of the Trustees.

Full board meetings are held quarterly, virtually and in-person.
Outside of board meetings, Trustees may be required to attend committee meetings.
Geographical Considerations
In-person meetings are held in the Pacific.
Travel is arranged and paid for by Oxfam in the Pacific.
