Credit Manager

Job Summary: The Credit Manager is responsible for managing the company’s credit risk and ensuring the effective management of credit policies and procedures. This role involves evaluating customer creditworthiness, overseeing accounts receivable, and as well as representing the company in legal proceedings related to credit and collections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Credit Assessment: Analyze and assess credit applications, determining credit limits based on risk evaluation.
• Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate credit risk by maintaining updated knowledge of market conditions and industry trends.
• Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee the collections process, ensuring timely payments and addressing overdue accounts promptly.
• Court Representation: Attend court proceedings related to collections and credit disputes, providing necessary documentation and testimony as required.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on credit activities, outstanding accounts, and financial performance metrics for management.
• Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain credit policies to align with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with sales, teams to resolve credit-related issues and support business operations.
• Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate communication regarding credit terms and payment schedules.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies related to credit management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 years work experience as a Credit Manager or in a similar role
• Experience attending court for collections or credit disputes is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in credit management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and risk management principles.
