Position: Administrative/Human Resource Officer
Location: JICA Fiji Office, Level 8, Suva Central Building, Suva, Fiji
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Fiji Office is seeking qualified and dedicated applicants for the role of Administrative/Human Resource Officer. This is a dynamic role requiring hands-on management of both personnel and office operations to support JICA’s mission in Fiji.
Key Responsibilities
- National Staff Management:
- Staff Management: Oversee staff attendance, leave, medical exams, payroll, and recruitment; act as Health & Safety representative.
- General Affairs and Office Management:
- Coordinate with building management; handle equipment, facilities, vehicle management; ensure proper logistics with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance; consult with legal advisors as needed.
- Inter-Ministerial and Legal Liaison:
- Act as the primary point of contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other ministries, and the office’s legal advisor to ensure smooth project execution, address legal matters and support office operations.
- Security and Emergency Management:
- Manage security protocols for JICA personnel, including oversight of the Security Advisor, and provide support to Japanese personnel during incidents or emergencies.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Resident Representative to support the smooth functioning of office operations and project activities.

Join NowRequirements and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in administration, office, or HR management; experience with international agencies is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry regulations and labor laws.
Skills:
- Proficiency in English (written and oral); Japanese proficiency is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High Ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
Salary & Benefits
Salary and other benefits will be commensurate with the JICA Fiji Office regulations.
Terms of Contract:
Duration: One-year renewable contract based on performance.
Probation: Six-month probation period.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with a flexible start from 8:00 am to 9:30 am and an hour lunch break.
