Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Industrial and Marine Engineering Pte Limited (IMEL), a division of Carpenters Group of Companies, has an exciting opening for dynamic individuals to join IMEL for the Bus Body Fabricator role based in Walu Bay, Suva.

Responsibilities:

• Cut, shape, glaze and spray-paint metal parts.
• Fabricating, Welding, screwing, riveting and bolting components together to form finished products.
• Cutting, shaping and grinding sheet metal and plastic to create panels.
• Build vehicle frames.
• Assemble and join parts to the frame, such as floor, roof and side panels.
• Install electrical wiring.
• Attaching axles, suspension assemblies, steering columns and brakes.
• Fit additional parts to vehicle bodies, such as hydraulic lifts and refrigeration equipment.
• Repair, replace and modify frames and parts.
• Install or repair upholstery.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in bus body fabrication work
• Knowledge of vehicle building materials and equipment
• Welding and collision repair skills, including the ability to cut and shape metal
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
