ACCOUNTANT (PNG)
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based at Pactrade PNG Limited, a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies based at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful incumbent will assume responsibility for day-to-day financial accounting and reporting including preparing accounts, budgets, audits, capital expenditure process and managing financial information for the business. Other responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Preparation, completion and analytical review of monthly financial reporting
- Ensure accounting and management systems accurately and efficiently capture and report the financial affairs of the Company.
- Provide timely and accurate statutory and management reporting including Budgeting and forecasting and Debtors and cash flow Management.
- Ensure compliance with all local statutory and regulatory laws.
- Manage debtors and creditors ledger and carry out journal entries and month end close work.
- Ensure GSRN is raised once stock received and maintenance of respective filing records.
- Develop, monitor and analyze key activities, business processes, business risks and project costings to identify opportunities and threats for Management decision making.
- Assist business in ensuring the administration and enhancement of internal control procedures to protect the Company’s assets.
- Mentor, coach and manage your direct reports as well as other members of the wider team.
Qualification, Skills and Experience:
- Degree or higher qualification in Accounting/Finance from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 4 years work experience as a Accountant or similar capacity with working knowledge of statutory regulations and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven knowledge of accounts receivable and payable, inventory, cost accounting, payroll and budgeting.
- Experience with financial reporting requirements and general ledger.
- A commitment to strong business ethics and personal integrity.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical and problem-solving skills. Willing to relocate to Papua New Guinea.
