Carpenters Finance, a division of Carpenters Fiji Limited has exciting opening for a dynamic and suitably experienced individual to join Carpenters Finance in the following role to be based in Suva.

INTERNAL AUDITOR

Responsibilities:

·        Perform risk-based audits of financial, operational, and IT systems across the company. Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of controls and business processes to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.

·        Identify and assess potential risks in various departments and propose appropriate control mechanisms to mitigate those risks.

·        Ensure the company adheres to relevant financial regulations and reporting standards.

·        Prepare and present audit findings, including risk analysis, internal control weaknesses, and suggestions for improvement. Provide regular reports to management on the results of audits and follow-up on outstanding audit issues.

·        Test and evaluate the company’s internal controls to ensure they are operating effectively and efficiently. Highlight areas of vulnerability and recommend actionable steps for strengthening controls.

·        Review operations and recommend process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and financial reporting accuracy.

·        Work with management to ensure timely resolution of audit findings and implement corrective actions. Advise on risk management strategies and internal control best practices.

·        Stay current with industry best practices, emerging risks, and audit methodologies. Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal audit processes.

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

·        Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) is preferred.

·        3+ years of experience in internal auditing, preferably within the financial services or lending industry.

·        Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and auditing procedures.

·        Ability to analyze complex data and processes, and make informed recommendations.

·        Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in teams.

·        Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
