GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER – Navini Island Resort Ltd

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Navini Island Resort is looking for an enthusiastic person to fulfill the role of General Maintenance Worker.

This position is responsible for maintaining the buildings and facilities of the Resort, working closely with the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform skilled work involving construction, repair, and finishing.

• Carpentry and general repair of furniture, walls, doors, windows, ceilings, fences, and deck.

• Concrete, tiling, stone, and grouting work (bathrooms, verandas, steps, ramp, etc).

• Prepare surfaces, apply primer or other sealers, match paint/stain, remove and reinstall fixtures, and apply paint using paintbrushes, rollers, or sprayers.

• Operate carpentry tools and equipment.

• Perform special projects such as construction of new fences and outdoor showers.

• Maintain stock, storage, correct rotation, and records to ensure materials are on hand and in good condition when required.

• Grounds and beach work including raking, removing litter and debris, turning leaves, assisting with trimming, and removing weeds.

Applicants should have a suitable trade certificate, knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and work in a safe and efficient manner.

Other requirements include good organizational skills, motivation, willingness to work flexible times, and work well independently and with others.

Preference will be given to applicants who are honest, enthusiastic to learn and become part of the Tourism Industry, a team player, and have a pleasant personality.

This position offers a competitive starting salary, island based with accommodation and meals provided. Days off arrangements are flexible.
