General Manager – Pactrade PNG 

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an experienced General Manager to be based at Pactrade PNG Ltd, Port Moresby, PNG. The successful incumbent will be accountable for the leadership, management, and control of all activities within PNG Business Entity in accordance with the strategic direction the Group.

• Manage supply chain and distribution across the country and support product sales, growth and continuous cost & quality improvements in the business within a set budget, across geographical multi-sites.
• Oversee new sales lead development, improving distribution methods, and exploring new business opportunities, as well as execution of marketing activities through the sales managers and executives.
• Lead preparation and managing the budget and monitoring the financial health of the business unit.
• Review and align sales territories, quotas, and goals to improve service delivery and sales revenue.
• Ensure regular market visits, meeting with key clients and assisting sales team with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
• Communicate operational/business performance results, activities, etc. to Executive Management and provide recommendations and plans for ongoing improvement.
• Accountable for understanding business manpower needs, ensuring each person is performing all requirements of the job and providing adequate training and development and succession as necessary.

Experience and Attributes:

• Tertiary qualification Business Management, Commerce, Sales & Marketing or relevant field.
  Must have at least 5 years as a General Manager or in a similar role with strong sales & distribution experience and knowledge in the FMCG sector.
• Working knowledge and experience in South pacific exports market or PNG is desirable.
• Ability to understand market and business intelligence to make informed choices about business development.
• Possess broad commercial and business acumen and a strategic thinker.
• Excellent leadership, people management and decision making skills.
• Strong analytical problem solving, forecasting, budgeting, negotiating and communication skills.
