Position: Chemist

Location: Suva

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and conduct laboratory-based experiments and chemical analyses related to water treatment processes.
• Develop and validate laboratory test methods for various water quality parameters.
• Interpret analytical data and generate comprehensive technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize chemical usage and treatment performance.
• Maintain strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols and chemical handling procedures.
• Keep abreast of advancements in chemical research and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory practices.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MSc, PhD) will be considered an added advantage and may influence selection.
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in laboratory research or water treatment-related chemical testing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of water treatment processes, chemical behavior, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent documentation and reporting abilities, with attention to detail and scientific accuracy.
