Kokomo Private Island Fiji is seeking an experienced Marine and Logistics Compliance Officer to be based in Kadavu.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall compliance and administration of the Marine Department pertaining to logistics, Health/Safety and Legal requirements of all Kokomo Private Islands marine assets, associated equipment and activities either on or under water.

The role assists in the compliance of all local and international maritime legislation, local and international health and safety requirements and ensures the paperwork of the day-to-day operation is both compliant and recorded.

 

 

Overall Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Oversees the administration requirements of the full Kokomo fleet of vessels, ensuring operational process is recorded in accordance with local maritime regulations, manufacturer standards, and company SOPs.

  • Oversees the administration requirements of the full Kokomo fleet of vessels.

  • Review all SOP/P&P within the department and update in line with Managers requirements.

  • Ensure accurate and up to date records are kept of all marine operations and that they comply with MSAF and local safety standards.

  • Be up to date and part of all emergency response planning and assist with training within the Marine Department, including conducting regular emergency drills and maintaining up-to-date documentation for all marine procedures.

  • Support the marine manager and the marine team, to ensure rosters, development plans, and performance appraisals are maintained. Foster a positive, safety-driven, and guest-focused culture.

  • Promote sustainable marine practices, fuel efficiency, and reef protection initiatives aligned with Kokomo’s environmental objectives.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and cost tracking for all marine assets. Submit monthly reports including fleet condition, maintenance progress, compliance status, and revenue results.

 

 

Qualifications & Attributes

 

 

  • Minimum secondary and tertiary qualifications in management

  • Proven leadership skills

  • 5 years and above experience within marine operations

  • Higher end resort or yacht charter experience preferably

  • Self-starter and be a team player and leader

  • High levels of computer and administration skills and reporting experience

  • Being able to read and analyse daily log and to detect defects and rectify to a world class standard.

  • Motivation to drive continuous improvement processes and ensure that capacity is maximised

  • Ability to manage dynamic and changing workforce, as well as being able to work extremely well under pressure

  • Dedication to the details, from budget management to locating inefficiencies

  • Well presented with an excellent Attitude is important

  • Strong business ethics and acumen

  • A strong understanding of high-end Guest expectations

  • Physically fit and an active/effective Team Player
