STEEL TUBE MILL – PROCESS & QUALITY CONTROLLER

Requirements:

Qualification: Diploma/Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience: 5-10 years’ experience in quality inspection, preferably in tube mills or manufacturing.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of mill operations, process flow, and machine settings.

Skilled in using micrometres, calipers, verniers, OD/ID gauges, and hardness testers.

Ability to read technical drawings, Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), and specifications.

Familiar with ISO standards and basic quality documentation.

General Skills: Good communication, reporting, and analytical skills.

Work Environment: Able to work in a shift-based environment.

Role:

• Monitor and control tube mill production (welding, sizing, OD/ID, thickness, length).

• Ensure correct roll setup, welding parameters, and finishing operations.

• Conduct in-process and final quality inspections.

• Identify defects (cracks, pinholes, dents, ovality, thickness variation).

• Identify process deviations and make real-time adjustments.

• Troubleshoot basic machine issues and support during stoppages.

• Maintain daily production and process logs, inspection records, quality reports, and instrument calibration logs.

• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.

• Coordinate with operators, maintenance, and supervisors; communicate quality issues and support corrective actions.

• Ensure safety and operational compliance.
