Fulton Adventist University College is seeking to fill the position of: LECTURER OF THEOLOGY

Position Overview

The role of the lecturer is to:
Develop and deliver quality educational material to students and assess work submitted by students in adherence to the academic policies of the Fulton Adventist University Academic Bulletin.

The successful candidate will have most of the following:

i. Must be a practicing baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission and lifestyle. This would incorporate an active relationship with Jesus Christ characterized by a deep desire for worship and service to God.
ii. The ideal candidate will hold either a Master of Theology (ThM) in Practical Theology or a PhD in Practical Theology.
iii. Candidates with a strong academic publication record and a demonstrated ability to contribute regularly to the FAUC theological journal will be given preference.
iv. A record of excellence in teaching or professional experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

i. Perform duties assigned by the Head of Department in consultation with the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic)
ii. Prepare module descriptors, examination papers in consultation with the Department and Quality Assurance Committee.
iii. Well-developed interpersonal and relationship skills.
iv. Effective communication with excellent presentation and verbal reasoning ability.
v. Ability to teach and assess classes effectively.
vi. Willingness to engage in lifelong learning.
vii. Proven willingness to work as a member of a team or independently, as required.
viii. Relevant information communication technology (ICT) skills;
ix. Understanding and application of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Philosophy of Education.
