A critical role aimed at strengthening financial management and reporting capabilities, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of accurate financial statements (monthly, half-yearly & yearly) in accordance with the accounting standards
- Perform month-end and year-end closing and reporting.
- Communicate financial performance to management on a monthly basis.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and identify & mitigate financial risks
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
- Prepare forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans, and monitor actual performance against budget
- Collaborate with other departments for financial data.
- Analyse financial performance and provide insights for decision-making.
- Provide training and development for staff
Requirements
- A degree level qualification in accounting or commerce is essential.
- Preferably 5 years professional experience in accounting; in budgeting, external reporting, internal management reporting, and asset accounting.
- A high level of conceptual, analytical and interpretive skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under and meet tight deadline pressures.
- A strong commitment to excellent customer service and change management.
- A strong work ethic with a hands-on commitment to get projects completed.
