Fiji Association of Sports & National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) is seeking to appoint a CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) / SECRETARY GENERAL (SG). The CEO/SG, reporting to the President and the Executive Board and guided by the FASANOC Charter, serves as the organisation’s principal administrative and financial officer. The role provides strategic and operational leadership to deliver FASANOC’s priorities across governance; sport services and commissions; Team. The CEO/SG serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Executive Board, in accordance with IOC requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and review of the FASANOC Strategic Plan and annual business plans, ensuring performance aligns with agreed organisational priorities.
- Ensure strategic alignment across people, programmes, partnerships and resources to deliver outcomes approved by the Board.
- Lead budgeting, financial planning, cashflow management and expenditure control to ensure sustainability and responsible use of organisational funds.
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly and annual financial statements, along with timely financial reports for the Board.
- Lead and monitor organizational programs, projects and services to ensure delivery of targets, outcomes, budgets and reporting obligations.
- Coordinate with FASANOC Commissions and sport service units to enhance member federation support and promote athlete-centered development.
- Provide executive oversight of Team Fiji’s planning and readiness for major events, including the Olympic, Commonwealth, Pacific and other designated Games.
- Coordinate closely with National Federations, team leaders, medical teams, athlete support services and Games organising committees to ensure seamless preparation and delivery.
- Lead and strengthen organisational structure, role clarity, systems and workforce planning to meet current and future needs.
- Implement performance management processes, including KPIs, development plans and annual reviews, while addressing performance issues fairly and promptly.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders
- Government agencies, sponsors, donors, education institutions and community partners.
Requirements
- Higher Degree including Post Grad Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, Sports Management.
- Minimum of 5 years in a similar role or 8 years at a Senior Managerial role.
- Possess skills in establishing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (Mutually beneficial relationships).
- Ability to apply/implement organizational and procedural guidelines.
- Financial management with a demonstrated ability to prepare and manage budgets, analyse financial records and report preparation.
- Possesses a strong background in sponsorship and marketing, an area of expertise that is highly needed within FASANOC. This capability is essential for developing a more sustainable funding approach.
- An understanding of the Olympic movement and the functional roles of its key components as well as understanding of the autonomy of sport.
