The Minister of Youth and Sports invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to join as Board Members for the BOXING COMMISSION FIJI. While there is no salary attached, there is a small remuneration payment and allowance made as determined by the organization and approved by the Honorable Minister for Youth and Sports. The period of appointment is 3 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Chairperson of the Board who has experience in business and a good understanding of boxing in Fiji and the international context.
- Vice Chairperson
- A former boxing representative
- At least 3 people have experience in sports administration.
Requirements
- An impressive track record of success in the private, public and/ or voluntary sector
- The ability to operate at Board Level
- A good understanding of the role that sport and physical activity plays in society
- An ability to think creatively and strategically; the skills to challenge current thinking at Board level
- A clear commitment to improving diversity and equality and understanding the needs of under-represented groups in sports.
- A good understanding of Fiji’s boxing landscape.
