Key Responsibilities
- Prior to starting the shift, review all active job cards, repair orders (ROs), and special instructions to understand the scope of work performed on vehicles slated for testing.
- Conduct standardised and comprehensive road tests tailored to the vehicle service type (e.g., Preventive Maintenance, General Repair, or Diagnostic).
- Actively evaluate vehicle dynamics, focusing on: Noise, Vibration, and Handling (NVH): Assessing for abnormal sounds, excessive vibration, and steering stability.
- Evaluating braking effectiveness (straight stopping, pedal feel), gear shifting smoothness, and overall alignment integrity.
- Upon return from the road test, perform a meticulous static inspection of the vehicle, verifying both technical function and fluid levels.
- Inspect and confirm levels and condition for Engine Oil, Coolant, Brake Fluid, Power Steering Fluid, and Windshield Washer Fluid.
- Review diagnostic data, confirming the number of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and proper ECU readings after repairs.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Technician’s Role or a similar customer-facing role within the automotive industry, preferably with Toyota experience.
- Proven experience in the automotive industry, preferably in a workshop environment.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanics and operation across various vehicle systems.
- Toyota Pro technicians’ Qualification is an advantage.
- Ability to accurately identify and diagnose common vehicle issues through observation and road testing.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Basic understanding of vehicle owner’s manuals and service schedules.
