Job Title: Hotel Accountant
Role Purpose: In your position as the Hotel Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely management reports, ensuring strong financial controls in line with company policies, and maintaining robust budgeting and forecasting models to support strategic planning and business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all monthly reporting commitments within designated timeframes.
  • Co-ordinate and manage the monthly SOX journals submission in accordance with US compliance and regulations.
  • Support others within your team and empower them wherever possible.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets and monthly forecasts as and when needed.
  • Preparing and finalizing all business units or properties cash books and posting of monthly cashbook journals for the RMbTL Team.
  • Ensure the balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and cleared appropriately.
  • Ensure the intercompany accounts are reconciled monthly and appropriate controls are in place to minimize discrepancies.
  • Download and prepare monthly reports and statistical data (GST, PIF’s and STR) for management packs and report presentation.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly consolidated debtors reports.
  • Actively contribute to ensuring internal controls are in place and working effectively to protect and contribute to the financial performance of this group of companies.
  • Report on and control capital expenditure.
  • Maintain audit trail integrity and assist with annual audit queries.
  • Perform any other duties as and when required.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within hospitality or resort operations.
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting and compliance requirements in Fiji.
  • Experience working with PMS systems.
  • High attention to detail, strong reconciliation skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A team-focused mindset with a passion for service excellence and continuous improvement.
