The role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and uninterrupted supply of electrical power across the plant through routine inspections, preventive maintenance, fault diagnostics, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment with strong adherence to safety standards, engineering procedures, and best maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on all plant electrical systems.
  • Perform detailed troubleshooting of electrical faults, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable corrective actions
  • Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, diagnosing issues accurately and restoring operations safely and efficiently
  • Execute electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and upgrade works in compliance with industry standards and PCL engineering specifications
  • Participate actively in preventative and predictive maintenance schedules and plant shutdown activities
  • Provide technical support during plant shutdowns, planned maintenance, mill calibrations, and major overhauls
  • Maintain accurate job cards, logs, checklists, and downtime reports for planning, audit, and compliance purpose
  • Ensure all electrical tools, instruments, and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, equipment lifespan, and overall plant safety
  • Ensure all electrical works are conducted in full compliance with statutory requirements, safety procedures, and PCL policy.

Requirements

  • Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Sound knowledge of industrial electrical systems, plant operations, and maintenance practices
  • Working knowledge of PLC fault diagnostics and VFD programming
  • Understanding of HV motors, power factor correction systems, industrial controls, and liquid starters
  • Good understanding of electrical safety standards, isolation (LOTO) procedures, and regulatory compliance.
