Key Responsibilities
- Leading the month end closing process and ensuring timely preparation of accurate management accounts and financial statements.
- Preparing and analysing monthly financial reports, including detailed variance analysis against budgets.
- Managing budgeting and forecasting processes, including cash flow projections to ensure liquidity.
- Overseeing intercompany reconciliations across branches, overseas agents and shipping principals.
- Supervising accounts payable, receivables and payroll functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Managing the Fixed Asset Register and supporting financial evaluation of capital expenditure.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT and tax filings.
- Coordinating internal and external audits and acting as the key liaison point.
- Developing and maintaining robust accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Monitoring financial data integrity and maintaining audit ready documentation systems.
- Providing leadership, guidance and mentorship to finance team members.
Requirements
- A University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in accounting or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and relevant regulations.
- Experience working within a multi entity or group structure.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
- Experience in the shipping, transport or logistics sector will be an advantage.
