Aspen Medical is seeking enthusiastic candidates for the role Driver. The successful candidate will provide a reliable and safe driving service to patients and staff whilst maintaining integrity with a sense of confidentiality and responsibility.
Key Outcomes
Patients and employees are transported safely to and from Hospital
Ambulance, Fleet, and equipment are kept in clean and working condition
Vehicle defects and maintenance are monitored and kept up to date
Effective support provided to medical personnel
Timely submission of vehicle records such as running sheets, maintenance, and accidents reports
The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
Ensure ambulance, fleet is clean and stocked properly with first aid and medical supplies prior to each shift and between patient transports throughout the day
Accept patient transport assignments daily and drive ambulance, vehicles with any necessary medical personnel to patient location
Assist medical personnel with onboarding of patients on stretchers and/or into ambulances
Transport patient and medical attendants to assigned medical facility and assist in patient disembarking from ambulance and handed over to the appropriate medical personnel
Accompany Medical technicians and paramedics on emergency calls to transport patients to hospitals when assigned to do so
Maintenance and daily cleanliness of vehicle ensuring excellent working condition
Restrains troublesome patients
Removes and replaces soiled linens and equipment to maintain sanitary conditions. Replaces supplies and disposable items on ambulances
Reports facts concerning accidents or emergencies to hospital staff or law enforcement officials
Experience and Qualifications Required
Successful completion of Form 6 level
Valid driving license classifications 2,4 &6 and a valid Defensive Driving Certificate. Experience in a similar work environment
Ambulance drivers’ certificate is desirable
Good knowledge on vehicle maintenance, cleanliness and transport rules & regulations
Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
Understanding of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures that apply to ambulance service
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Good customer service skills with a service oriented approach and commitment to supporting the operational and corporate environment of the organization
Desired
Knowledge of the Health Services Industry.
