FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT – Goodman Fielder

JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
This position will be based at the Head Office in Karsanji Street, Vatuwaqa reporting to the Finance Manager Operations.

The nature of the role includes:

Reviewing systems performance and identifying system issues, identifying gaps with recommendations for improvement and owning implementation.
Working with the IT Team on managing system upgrades during the pre-testing period and post-testing period.
Reviewing and maintaining all financial systems policies and procedures.
Designing and implementing internal system controls to provide quality assurance over financial data.
Reviewing internal systems controls and robustness of documentation to ensure business losses are avoided.
Troubleshooting and resolving finance related system issues.
Training and supporting Finance Team members and stakeholders in the use of financial systems and procedures.
Working with the IT Team to design delivery schedules of systems development.
Working with business intelligence softwares.
Own the Syspro Masterfile’s to ensure accuracy and best practice.

Key skills and attributes required:

A bachelor’s degree majoring in Information Systems or Information Technology and Accounting/Finance.
A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
Experience with project management.
Advanced and broad knowledge of accounting system data structures, systems functionality, and linkages.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate constructively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work under pressure, with a drive to meet tight deadlines.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
A valid group 2 driver’s license with no demerit points.
