We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Group Insurance Officer to join our risk and compliance team based in Lami.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with reporting head in developing prudent insurance coverage plan for all group assets/properties, gross profits, other perils and staff medical.
Participating in negotiations with brokers and relevant parties for comprehensive insurance coverage for the Group.
Reviewing the existing insurance policies and procedures and coordinating and submitting, as necessary, the gathering of insurance policy renewal data
Analyzing insurance needs by working with risk and compliance team in identifying risk exposures and classifying risk to provide optimum coverage.
Day to day claims management including medical insurance and related activities.
Managing the workers’ compensation and incident reporting program and processes, assesses, and report claims to relevant stakeholders.
Providing timely notifications of claims to insurance brokers and working with entity representatives regarding incident reports and claims or losses.
Collecting and analyzing data on all claims and preparing monthly and quarterly reports for management reporting on all insurance and claims related matters for the Group.
Ensuring disaster recovery plans are valid and implemented by group entities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, risk management or other related discipline from a recognized institute.
At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role with strong insurance market knowledge and experience in assets/property, health and other perils coverage.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
